  Designed by Weatherby, the .416 Weatherby Magnum is a blown-out 378 Weatherby Magnum. Similar to the .416 Rigby it is was factory available. It is more potent than strictly necessary for North American big game and is suitable for all safari in Africa including elephant.

  "The .416 Weatherby Magnum, introduced in 1989, is a very powerful rifle cartridge. It is able to push a 400 grain (26 g) bullet to 2700 ft/s (820 m/s). The cartridge also fires that same 400 grain bullet 300 ft/s faster than both the .416 Remington Magnum, and .416 Rigby.
